Whilst in Portugal, we visited an art gallery (don't ask me which). There were a few pieces of work which really appealed to me. Considering my camera decided to die a few days into the holiday, I wasn't able to take any photographs. I did however, jot down the name of the artists and the title of the work. Now, I've tried searching for them online, to see if I could find them to post on here, but for some reason, I hardly find any! :| I did however, find some work by two of the artists.

I absolutely love these pieces!

Night time..... day time!!... Night time..... day time!!!

Just a little something I find amusing. :)

Collections put to use..?

Linking to the whole book binding jibber jabber, I made an A6 book dedicated to collaging! GO ME!
Anyways, yeah, I've been using some bits I collected to make something that hopefully look's interesting. I end up keeping all sorts of crap, whether it be a wrapper from something, or an old tissue box. I find playing around with random bits like that more interesting and easy to work with. I go for the messy look when it comes to collaging. It's gooooooooooood!

What's this!? Books!?!?

Since coming back from Portgual and wandering around the hand craft markets, I've been obsessed with books! I'm generally in love with paper as it is, and this just gave me an amazing excuse to collect and buy loads more! :D
So I've been making a few books here and there. Pretty damn proud of them actually!!

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog?

Ze alphabet?

Well I mentioned in another post, I spotted the alphabet underneath my cats litter tray.

V

It's not an amazing photogaph, I know, but I thought I'd whack it up here anyways.
I love things like this! It really shows imagination and dedication.
At the bottom right it explains where each letter was found.

Not long after seeing this article, I did some work at a cafe, and was randomly playing around with the strong shadow cast on the kitchen wall. I ended up trying to form letters on the wall with my hand, for pure entertainment. After work, I went to my car, and I saw the letter 'e' in a shadow made by the wing mirror.

So, I kept going and I ended up making my own alphabet. :)
I also used masking tape to create the alphabet. I was using it in my collages and accidentally created a 't'. I thought, what the hell! Haaahah!! I would upload pics of them, but they're rather poor quality so I won't bother. I printed them out and mounted them on white card. I'm currently thinking of a way to conect them together.
Personally I think they look rather snazzy! I'll take a sneaky pic of the ''booklet'' soon, just so you can see what the hell I'm jabbering on about. :) I'll have to wait until tomorrow now, the lightings real pants at night in my room!

Type..kinda

Ok, so I've been trying to think of a good way to get all these photos up without making it oober boring. Well, it will be anyway, but, whatever really. It'll show I've been doing something!
So yeah, I've been organising my collections into categories. This, you may have already gathered, is type! I made a pile for; Serifs, San Serifs, both, and just image for each category. I found Sans Serif to be the most popular when it came to the 'Portugal' pile! Yeeeay!

Collections

As well as photography, I managed to collect a fair bit over the summer. I thought it'd be another good way of recording activities and such.
I organised my collections into categories; Britney Spears, holiday, home and leeds. I arranged them by colours, type and size. I'll be putting the evidence up soon!
For now.. here's the bundle of 'leeds' stuff..
..and 'Britney' stuff...
..and 'Portugal' stuff...
..and finally, 'home' stuff!

Travelling..

Sitting on a coach for 9 hours can get VERY tedious. Granted, I was asleep for the majority of the trip, but I managed to squeeze in a few picture taking sessions!

Who knows why, but I enjoy finding shapes and images in alsorts. I was on the coach in London and passed this funny looking tree! In the words of Rolf Harris, 'Can you guess what it is yet!?'

Some more cloud spotting took place. How amazing is this!??!??! Looks like a sheep kinda thing! :D

In ze Portugal :)

Much to my annoyance, my camera decided to break a few days into the holiday. Damn sand. :(
However, I did manage to get a good few snaps during the time I had!!
We went to Albufeira, beautiful beautiful Albufeira! :D

I absolutely love taking pictures whilst on a plane. It's the only good thing about flying in my books! Well, that and landing in a completely different country! XD Who cares if it interferes with the engine? HA!
I love cloud watching!! I'm one of those annoying people who searches for something interesting in the sky. I love the textures too. It's fascinating how fluffy and full they look from the ground looking up, yet when you're in them, its just mist! I think it's time I told you all, clouds aren't solid! And they can't be held! :O I'm sorry. It's like telling a child Santa isn't real. I feel mean.
The photo below actually reminds me of a newspaper article I found whilst I was at home. I managed to rescue it from underneath my cats litter tray! :D I shall talk more about that some other time....

Below is a particular favourite I took whilst on the plane. Being able to see the wing of the plane shows solidity, compared to the transparency of the clouds. The clouds again, show texture as they're both thin and thick in particular areas.

I didn't have the guts to go inside this church. There was a scarey man standing outside of it, talking to himself most of the time. So yeah. Anyways, this was the view from the appartment we stayed at. To the left is a row a convienience shops, along with a few restaraunts. Behind them however, is the best bit! THE SEEEEAAAAA!!!

Below.. another cloud picture. But only because of how strange they are!! They look sooooo wierd! Almost as if they're windswept? We went for 10 days, and whenever there were clouds, they all looked like this! I just thought it was fascinating. :)

This is bloody brilliant! One woman, moulding sand, carving details, creating masterpieces! I've got a few more pictures of these, just didn't wanna bore you with them all! There was like, a whole row of these, with her, just carving away at the tiniest details. I believe she was working on a tiny tiny flower at the time I took this. Patience of what!! And there's me suggesting we all chip in for a bucket and spade to make a pathetic castle!

BRITNEY SPEARS!!!!!!!!!

Here's a few of my favourite photos I took at the concert.

Below is probably the best one I took. It shows colour, depth, atmosphere and intensity.
I really like being able to see the audience, it gives the photograph that more oomf when it comes to the atmosphere. Although this is my favourite photograph, I'm quite dissapointed in the quality of the audience. Personally, I prefer them to be silhouetted. Perhaps if the image were to be cropped, it would inhance the aesthetic quality.

Ah crap!

It's been, what, 4 months!? My bad!
Well, although the evidence isn't on here as of yet, I'll tell y'all what I've been upto this summer! It's definitely been the best summer I've ever had.
I went to my first ever concert.... Britney Spears! :D
I went on my first ever holdiay, with the housemates....Portugal! :D
I went home for the majority of the summer..... friiiiiiiiiends! :D

I've taken tons of photographs, some good, some a bit pants. But hey, they all count!
Keep a look out for ze awesome pics!
